First 5 Sacramento is seeking Sacramento residents to join the Equity in Action Committee and help decide how $4 million in grants can be used to support organizations working with young families in historically underfunded communities.
This is a new way of funding called Participatory Grantmaking. It puts decision-making power directly in the hands of the people who know their communities best.

About The Equity in Action Committee 
Committee members with lived experiences and local expertise will help decide how $4 million dollars should be spent supporting children ages 0-5 in the communities that need it most. This Participatory Grantmaking Process will help ensure that the decisions made are well-informed, culturally responsive and reflective of the community's strengths and needs.
