Empowered Families

AA Shaving

Young children require love, and support from their parents and caregivers in order to build a strong foundation for their development and growth. Recognizing that healthy child development begins at home and children can't thrive when families are struggling, services are focused on strengthening and empowering parents.

The Birth and Beyond Family Resource Centers

There are 9 Centers throughout Sacramento County that provide a safe, learning haven for parents to grow, network and bond with their children and other families. Services include:

  • Home visitation
  • Health screenings
  • Crisis intervention services
  • Free cribs and car seats with training
  • Free transportation

Crisis Nursery

Services are free and confidential with the goal to keep families together during times of crisis and avoid entering into the foster care system. The Crisis Nursery can help in the following stressful situations:

  • A sudden illness or accident
  • Feelings of desperation or helplessness
  • Emotional distress or frustration
  • Domestic violence
  • Homelessness
